5 Places to Publish Your Translations (Oct 2023)
Remember to send your work to Alluvium, QLRS, and Eunoia Review. These online journals are always open to submissions of your translations, and you’ll enjoy working with the editors of these online journals.
Here are five additional publications seeking translations, all focused on poetry in translation:
Copper Canyon Press, one of the most reputable publishers of poetry, is reopen to submissions. It’s been quite a while since they were last open for submissions, so this is welcome news. They accept translations. Check out the guidelines here.
Eye to the Telescope, a journal of short form speculative poetry, accepts translations. It is a paying market ($0.04 per word, min $4, max $25). Please see the guidelines on this page for more.
Austin McCauley Publishers is open to submissions of book length manuscripts. They offer a traditional publication or a partnership publication model for you to consider. You can find a link to submit at the bottom of this page.
Circumference Books is a press dedicated to poetry books in translation. Circumference Magazine, a partner of the press, likewise focuses on translated poetry. You can find out more about how to submit here.
Poetry Magazine reopened to submissions on 15 September. They have an annual translation issue. You’ll want to submit your work while the window is open (it closes every year from June 15 to September 15). It pays $10 per line, with a minimum of $300 per contributor.
I hope to see your translations in these journals soon – remember to keep submitting!
